Hello Ladies, Our member Sue has been wonderful in offering her home up for Thanksgiving. Here is her invitation:
I am a single woman with no family in the area to spend this special day with. I thought it would be a great idea to have a Turkey "Gay" with other ladies in similar situations. I would love to open my home to friends for this special day. Here are my thoughts, and we can use the comment attached to share ideas and food suggestions.
I have become very good at deep frying a turkey. I will supply the turkey and ask if you are going to attend, please bring something to share, along with a beverage of choice. There are many traditional dishes that usually fulfill this meal, so if we could all coordinate through posting comments, we should be able to easily have all of the usual fixing's and many other special favorites.
We can make this a day-long event for those who may want to stop by before or after other family or friend engagements. And we cannot forget the traditional football games that are great entertainment to watch and build camaraderie.
We can start at noon and plan to have the turkey on the table about 2:00pm for the main meal. However, we can snack on some of the many yummy snack items some may choose to brings throughout the day.
Ponder the idea and let's begin a discussion to see how many may chose to attend and what various food items will be brought.
Additionally, I need to have an idea of how many will be in attendance so I know whether to get one very large bird or two medium birds. Who knows, maybe we can make this the first of many traditions to come.
What do ya say ladies !!!
(Please be courteous if you RSVP yes and you plan to share the main meal, PLEASE show up because the meal is being coordinated. If you are just dropping by for snacks and fun, it doesn't matter as much. It is really appreciated if you will manage your reservation and stay current. This means if you comment that you are bringing a dish and then you cancel, please note that under the comments section.)
