Murder Mystery Night

HORROR AT HOMECOMING....
Join us for a night of dancing and debauchery at the homecoming dance filled with deception and lots of butches and femmes...

You are cordially invited to the homecoming dance at Alex's Dance Hall in Signal Hill. The future is bright for the seniors at Mayhem High.

As you might imagine, this will not be your run of the mill, ordinary type of event.  This is a members only event so any friends you wish to bring will need to join the group.  Attendance is limited to 50. Be sure to get on the waiting list if all the spots are taken.

In order to attend, we are asking that you make a commitment to participate fully. There will be active roles and auxillary roles.  The following requests are for active roles only.

In order to RSVP for an active role, we are asking the following:
1. Read all emails, comments and updates thoroughly ,all the way to the end and respond when asked in a timely manner.  These events involve advanced preparation and forethought so this is essential to participation.                   2. Learn about your character (you will receive details ahead of time) and create your costume. The theme is homecoming and the era is late 70's early 80's.  Thrift stores should be packed with lots of perfect props!               3. Participate fully when you arrive which means once you walk in the door, you ARE your character and you are willing to play out it's role until the mystery is solved.          4. Arrive on time which means planning your day to make that happen. Your presence is essential to the mystery playing out correctly. There will be an initial explanation of the game and how it works at the start of the party.

If you choose one of the auxillary characters you will have more flexibility. Everyone attending is asked to come on time and in costume, although they don't have to be extravagant.

We will be sending out updates regarding food and any further instructions.

IF YOU WISH TO PLAY AN ACTIVE ROLE IN THIS MYSTERY, POST A COMMENT BELOW TO LET US KNOW.

Here's more about the actual mystery...It will be perfect for femmes and butches alike!

In the midst of a winning football season, school pride is running rampant at the high school. Not only is competition fierce on the football field, but the students are battling it out for grades, popularity, affection, class ranking as well as the coveted homecoming king and queen title. With so much excitement surrounding the election, everyone is planning on being in attendance at the dance to see who will be crowned royalty. Will it be the class president who is looking to extend his reign past the student council? The pom pom captain who has used her moves to land more than a homecoming court nomination? Or possibly the math team captain who is desperate to win at something other than a math meet.

While competition breeds excellence, it will also make one guest commit an act of vengeance... At the dance, the sinister will shimmy among the sinless and try to go unnoticed. With their futures on the line, it will be up to the students and staff of Mayhem High to make sure the felon does not go free.

I don't know if anyone will actually see this but I wanted everyone to know that when I actually upload the photos, they are all upright. Somehow, some of them are ending up sideways and upside down. It's frustrating and I'm waiting for meetup to respond to my question about why this is happening!

Wow, really? I don't have any problem seeing them. Oh, wait, that's because my head isn't screwed on right...or so I've been told.

A great big shout out to all the peeps who put this event together..."thank you!" I know a lot of time had to go into. It was great how people got in their roles. :D

Not to get all esoteric or anything, but what happened on Saturday was simply an expression of a community. A community is fluid; people move in, people move out, but at it's heart there is always a common denominator that unites them. In our case it is the celebration of woman, in all of our wonderful diversity, and I want to thank Jody for being the heart of an incredible community of women.

Such a fun time! SMWSLT hold such a great group of ladies. All played their roles in the mystery to the nines! I am proud and privileged to know each of you. Thank you for making the night so spectacular!

My friend Jessie, saying thank you for the support and friendship you bestowed upon me would not do you justice. Folks who has not had the luxury of getting to know you won't understand why I feel honored to be your friend. So let me just say thank you.

      February 23, 2014

    • Jessie

The feeling is so very mutual my friend! We are both blessed!

      February 24, 2014

Sarah Roby thank you for picking up the crown, tiara, and sashes. Dan, you may not like stepping in front of the cameras, but you always step up when there's work to do. Thank you for staying to put my home back to my normal.

Another wonderful Meetup with SMWSLT. Kudos to apple, jjjunglejuice, Jody, Elizabeth and all the rest of you who were involved in the organization, preparation, set-up and clean-up for this great night. Food was great - and plenty of it. However, I still want a recount of the votes. I KNOW I was elected Homecoming King but SOMEONE changed the votes!!! Peter Prez
