We are a group of progressive Christians seeking to change the world by working with other persons, groups, and organizations. SALT is a simple program than can be a lot of fun. We will get to meet people, make connections, and work for peace, justice, and the environment at the same time.

SALT is a "missional" ministry. We go to events, such as rallies and protests, speak outs, and educational events, as Progressive Christians. We get involved in the progressive community to help and support them. We both attend events together and individually, and volunteer as members of SALT. Eventually we will also do our own events. In the meantime we will be trained as leaders in our community.

The long-term goal is to create a broad-based progressive Christian movement. We will encourage Christians to get involved. We support progressive causes as an expression of our faith.

SALT is a good opportunity to get involved in the local community, and with people working for progressive change. We will make new friends, work together, get some exercise attending marches and rallies, organize direct nonviolent actions, and become leaders in our local communities. At the same time we will be living out our faith. We will "fight the good fight of the faith" and "take hold of the eternal life" understanding that Jesus commanded us to "make disciples of the nations." (1 Timothy 6:12; Matthew 28:19) Come join us and get involved.
