Anyone interested in a repeat of last year's fabulous Canada Day day-trip for whitewater rafting on the Chilliwack River?
Cost is $109 per person (plus 10% taxes), and must be paid in advance. No refunds within 21 days prior to trip.
We can arrange rides (my truck carries up to five people), and/or the rafting company will pick up at any downtown Vancouver hotel for an additional $45.
PAYMENT: Hyak has set up a special web page for Social Butterflies for this trip so you can pay them directly, but still be part of our "group" for the trip (a lot simpler than last year, trust me):
(email organizer for the payment link)
There is no minimum number of people, and I will happily go ahead with the trip as long as there is at least one other person going.
"Fed by the melting snow pack of Mount Baker, the Chilliwack River is at its best from May through July and is an exhilarating day trip. Hyak offers the longest rafting trip available, 18 km (12 miles) including the Tamahi, Sawmill and Swamp rapids. Trip includes 4 ½ hours of rafting, riverside buffet lunch, wetsuits and changing facilities with hot showers."
Things to bring:
On the River:
Bathing suit and/or nylon shorts (no cotton or jean shorts)
Footwear for on the river that won?t come off: i.e. water sandals with heel strap, old runners (no flip-flops!)
Rain jacket/windbreaker, preferably waterproof (VERY IMPORTANT!); bring it with you, if you don?t need it, leave it in your car.
Polar fleece/wool sweater & wool socks (for cooler days)
Medications, sunscreen (there is a small dry-bag on the raft for these items)
Dry clothes & shoes
