I was alone tonight at Wed. Night Drinks, and that was no fun. In spite of emailing a personal reminder to "yes" RSVPs last night reiterating that there was a waiting list (I appreciated the two people who took the time to change their RSVPs), I am taking a break from scheduling until I return from out of town in January.
It doesn't take much effort to change your RSVP people! This was a first for me with Social Butterflies... zero turnout. I've always said that as long as one other person shows up and we have a good time, it's a successful meetup, and now I have discovered how it feels to have a failed one. I am very disappointed in the people who blew it off. I am also considering making a "no guest" rule for limited-space events, since one person took up TWO spots at the event and then did not show up. How rude was that?
Of course I will keep the PICA dinner on the calendar (everyone has already paid!) and my birthday concert is already planned, but apart from those two events, perhaps our assistant organizers would like to post something?
