This group has a simple focus of helping single Christians to socialize. We’ve set an arbitrary minimum age basically because most churches tend to serve youth, married couples or others while generally overlooking singles that are 35 or “older”.
Our group is open to those just awakening to the idea of beginning on the walk with Christ to life-long open-minded Christians. We are a non-denominational group for those looking to connect, build community and increase their quality of life through shared activities/interests... and just about any interest goes… If you are going to do something and want to invite friends you haven’t met yet, post it as a Meet-up (though there are a few responsibilities attached to that, ask us!)
We are a Christian Singles group and like most of you, we want to find a partner when God leads us down that path but...WE ARE NOT A DATING SITE! The purpose is to build real friendships based on shared interests, compatibility, camaraderie, support etc. So if you’re like us and are looking to do more of the things you love or try new things with other Social Christian Singles then this would be a great place to connect.
Phil 2:1,2 Therefore, if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection, and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in Spirit, intent on one purpose.
There is a $10 annual membership fee, payable to organizer Sharon Reichert.
More About Us:
Profile Picture: All members are asked and required to post a profile picture which represents you in person (aka a selfie) so we can recognize you at a Meetup.
Participation: It is hoped that members attend frequently. RSVP YES if you want to attend the event, and NO only when you change your Yes to a No. We don't need to know if you simply have no interest or other plans on that day/time.
Finding the Group at a Location or an Event: Hosts should identify how they'll be recognizable or connect with the other attendees but that doesn’t guarantee you’ll find them. If the host chooses, they can provide their phone/text number for people to be in contact. This is why we ask that you have a recognizable picture of yourself as your photo.
Soliciting: We are a social group, not a business networking group. If after meeting someone and engaging in a discussion of what you do, you are free to "do business".
Safety and Conduct: Due to the unique nature of Meetup we get the privilege of meeting wonderful new people but we want to be wise and a safe community. Respecting other people’s boundaries is not negotiable and we expect that you handle yourself in a way that is kind, pure, respectful and responsible to both the opposite and same sex. We want this environment to facilitate friendship and natural progression, we are not a speed dating group or about match making. Conduct yourself as the Christ like adults that you are! Please be aware of honoring personal boundaries of others, which might mean that you might need to make more of an effort on how your actions may be affecting others, if they look uncomfortable then be sensitive to that.
Alcohol: A note to our membership events may include the opportunity to be around alcohol and or consume alcohol during a Meetup. We are all adults and so we choose to be responsible with that freedom and it is up to each person to manage themselves accordingly (Romans 14:17). However if you have an issue with alcohol or a belief system that this would be uncomfortable for you then you need to decide whether or not you would like to participate. We are not heavy drinkers and can and do have non-alcoholic events but we will not be regulating this and want this to be understood to our members.
