Bard and Banker – Sam McGee room

Open Communication Strategies

Let’s delve into how we can use SCIPS as a way to empower ourselves to make a difference.

Guest Speaker

Tom Billings, Internal Community Manager, Public Service Engagement and Corporate Initiatives, Public Service Agency

Tom will talk about the process of developing the @Work site, particularly how his team gained executive support and won over the employees’ trust that they could express their thoughts freely on the site. We will discuss how we can model this success to move forward with SCIPS's agenda.

Format

4:00 pm – Mingle and share ideas (appies will be provided)

4:30 pm – Guest Speaker Tom Billings talking about @Work and lessons learned

4:45 pm – Questions and open discussion

5:00 pm – More open discussion (planning, scheming & sharing)

Katia and I have posted a summary of what was discussed at the meetup, here: http://wp.me/p3Ql1o-1w

We're still looking for volunteers to host the next meetup, to be held sometime in May 2014. Please consider stepping up, it isn't as hard as it sounds!

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
