Kayak with the Nature Conservancy

The Young Professionals (21 to early 30's) group of the DC/Maryland Chapter of the Nature Conservancy is leading a kayaking trip to Mattawoman Creek in Indian Head, Maryland.

The Nature Conservancy is dedicated to preserving the lands and waters on which all life depends.  It is the largest environmental non-profit in the world with chapters in all 50 states and more than 35 countries.  The Young Professionals group brings together like-minded supporters to raise awareness and appreciation of environmental issues.

Mattawoman Creek is a 22 mile coastal river and 7 mile long tidal estuary that flows into the Potomac River about 22 miles south of DC.  It supports some of region’s finest freshwater marshes with a variety of waterfowl and aquatic vegetation.

The cost of the trip is $65 and includes a charter bus transportation from Dupont Circle to Mattawoman Creek, kayaking gear, and lunch.  In order to reserve your spot, please register for the trip at

This will be fun trip with lots to see!  Hope you can join us!
