We welcome aspies (people with Asperger's Syndrome), neurotypicals (people who don't have Asperger's Syndrome), and people with social anxiety!

-------------------------------------

Got Asperger's Syndrome (AS) or social anxiety (SA)? Want to socialize and experience life to its fullest, but don't know how? Well, you're in luck, because we're a group of like-minded people with similar goals! Here, you can socialize in a safe, non-judgmental environment, but more importantly, you can be yourself. We're aspies, so we understand the way we think and feel. Interested in practicing social skills? Cool! Interested in sharing your interests? Cool! Interested in making new friends who "get you?" Cool!

The main purpose of this group is to support each other's goals and personal growth. This will be accomplished primarily through group activities as well as candid discussion. We may have dinner, hang out at the beach, hike, go to the bar, zip line, or even sky dive. The sky's the limit when we can encourage each other! Some people want to take it slower than others; some thirst adventure. Whatever your pace, we will not pressure you, and you are welcome to participate at your own pace.

Our belief is that one of the best ways to overcome social anxiety and to develop social skills is continuous exposure to social situations.  The more diverse and challenging, the greater our skills, confidence, and character can grow.  Most importantly though, we believe that AS and SA are curable; this is the essence of our empowerment!  Please take the time to read our curability thesis:

The essence of our empowerment: The curability of Asperger's syndrome (AS) and social anxiety (SA)

-------------------------------------

If you have neither Asperger's Syndrome or social anxiety, we would still love for you to join! We would value your insight, advice, and support.  Or you may just want to hang out with a bunch of awesome people.  :)

As common courtesy, we do ask that members try their best to keep their RSVPs current.  That means that if members RSVPs "Yes," members will try their best to show up, and if members can no longer make it, members will try their best to update their RSVPs to "No."  This is also for planning and reservation purposes.
