Please mark your calendars for the next Social Entrepreneur Mondays@Tantric Meetup on June 7th at Tantric India Bistro. The theme for the evening will be Environment and Clean Energy. We have four presenters talking about their work in protecting the environment, building clean and renewable energy and generating jobs and opportunities in this space.

The monthly Meetups have gotten great reviews. This is your chance to meet others interested in supporting social impact and to build your social network. Hear about some wonderful efforts and get engaged with a cause.

Speakers and organizations represented in June are:

  • Jennifer Lawrence, Executive Director, Groundwork Somerville. Groundwork Somerville strives to bring about the sustained regeneration, improvement and management of the physical environment through the development of community-based partnerships which empower people, businesses and organizations to promote environmental, economic and social well-being. http://www.groundwork... Jennifer will share her experience, successes, and challenges about GWS, especially about Green Jobs, and sustainable community.

  • Tandhoni Rao, a Clean Energy Fellow at the New England Clean Energy Foundation. (www.cleanenergycouncil.org),Tandhoni will speak about promising cleantech ideas for the developing world. Tandhoni Rao is a recognized entrepreneur and technology pioneer with over 20 years of experience in the technology industry. He is currently a Fellow with the New England Clean Energy Council where he is exploring opportunities related to environmental sustainability issues. Prior to being selected as a Fellow he was Founding CEO and later Vice President of Product Strategy for Radiospire Networks, Inc. a semiconductor company delivering chipsets for wireless communications. Earlier, he was Co-Founder of 3G wireless infrastructure equipment startup Envoy Networks (acquired by Texas Instruments, Inc. in February 2002), serving as its CTO and VP Engineering. He has a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech, an MBA from the University of Texas, Dallas and MSEE and BSEE degrees from the University of Delaware. For his career achievements, he was named University of Delaware’s College of Engineering 2008 Outstanding Alumnus

  • Bill Staby, Chief Executive Officer of Boston-based Resolute Marine Energy, a leading developer of wave-driven power solutions for utility-scale electricity production and for other marine applications including offshore aquaculture and on-shore fresh water production. http://www.resolute-m... Bill is an experienced manager of early-stage technology companies. His entrepreneurial career started in 1997 when he was a co-founder of Proflowers.com and has included start-ups in media technology and business process automation. Earlier in his career, Bill was an investment banker at First Boston Corporation where he was a member of the Electric Utility Corporate Finance Group and later he was co-head of the North American mergers & acquisitions team at Rabobank International. Bill is a member of the executive committee of the U.S. delegation to IEC-TC 144 which is developing global standards for marine renewable energy technologies, he is a member of the Marine Technology Society and the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME) and he received his undergraduate degree from the City University of New York in 1985 and his MBA from New York University in 1987.

  • Stefan Pagacik, co-founder The Conscious Entrepreneurs Collaborative and founder and principal at E-Ventures360, an entrepreneurial think tank. He provides guidance and innovative thinking to organizations looking to solve large-scale problems or create new revenue opportunities from intellectual property or ‘capital’. In 2004, Stefan co-authored a feasibility study for the creation of a technology incubator in Southeastern Massachusetts. The Regional Technology Development Center of Cape Cod began operation in January 2007. Stefan helped procure project funding, designed key study parameters and built relationships with influencers and key individuals in government, academia, venture capital and the business community that helped launch the Center. Stefan worked for Adams Media Corporation, an educational and small business software company, where he started and built its software division. He also opened the Boston office for Chicago IT consulting firm Eclipse Information Systems (later acquired by Century Services of Washington, D.C.). Stefan received his B.A. in English from Harvard University and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Suffolk University.
