I have just stepped up to replace Bret as the Organizer of this group. (I would like to thank Bret and others for starting this group and keeping it going so far)
Thank you to Tysa for agreeing to be Co-Organizer of this Meetup Group,
we are seeking more, plus assistant organizers and event hosts, please speak up.
Picking up where Bret left off, I also want to share my thoughts about social media marketing,
Here is what I have in mind ....

Let's use Social Media Marketing PDX to connect with each other, and learn how to market this group to Portland, to America, and the World! Most of us would like to learn how to use Social Media Marketing PDX to learn how to better market ourselves and our business. We will do that by using this group as an area to learn and practice.

Who can help with these?
- A Blog for the group where members can share their thoughts and input...
- A YouTube video blog, where we interview members and others who are "doing it"
- A monthly Webinar and using technology to have meetings happen monthly "virtually"
- Recording these Webinars for new members to view past meetings and existing members can catch up on any meetings they miss
Let's all learn how to contribute and do all of this "on the cheap"
Continuing with what Bret had said: as well as learn from other PDXer’s who are marketing themselves through Social Media. If you are a merchant, speaker, consultant or marketer interested in hearing how others are growing their businesses and making money through social media make sure you are in attendance.
The initial list of topics that were thought to be important (I know very little about the following and I am open to hear from those of you who do)
- Using Friend Feed as your social cockpit
- How Google’s friend connect will be the ultimate social marketing app
- How brick and mortar businesses use social media to drive traffic to their locations
- How coaches, speakers and consultants are turning social media connections into real dollars. (I have done this one)
(What I can tell you is that as a coach, speaker, consultant, and real estate investor, I have used the Internet, Facebook, Meetup, Google, and more, to generate over $100,000 in revenue without knowing what I was doing! This is just the beginning, I plan to make some real money now! Care to join me?)
Like Bret, I am a food enthusiast and Wine drinker. Let's plan to create some events where we mix, mingle, have food, wine and fun! Portland has many great places for this! Please suggest some. I’m hoping that these meetups are a learning experience as well as mixing in some of the things that we call fun.
