Intellectualize, philosophize, socialize!

Social Philosophizers is a social club for those who desire intellectual stimulation as a social enhancer. It is a group for the intellectually curious! It is a club for both singles and non singles, and for anyone who finds intellectual mingling to be the best form of social mingling. The club offers a variety of interesting venues to achieve its mission:

  • Creative conversational formats
  • Philosophical films shown in private function rooms or private homes accompanying lunch or dinner
  • Discussions on works in literature and philosophy from classic to contemporary
  • Topical discussions over brunch, lunch or dinner
  • Guest speakers (lectures, authors, etc.)
  • Adventure walks (long philosophical ruminations while walking nature trails or strolling city streets)
  • Purely social events or mixers for meeting new people and making new friends
  • Plays, movies, museums and special events
  • Opportunities for members to lead discussions or promote their creative work

While this club is philosophically oriented, the name should not fool you.  It is much more than a philosophy club. Rather, it is a club for philosophically minded folks who enjoy discussing and contemplating the important issues, from the perennial issues of classics in philosophy and literature to the most contemporary of interests and concerns. Whether you are single or non single, into social networking or just being social, dating or not dating, Social Philosophizers is intended for people who believe that the life of the mind is a major ingredient in the joy of life.

The Social Philosophizers Club generally sponsors events that require admission and/or administrative fees. However, you might also consider joining Boston Area Philosophy Discussions for free events including discussions, book club meetings and group sessions in practical philosophy.

"I refuse to live my life as though the way things are is the way they should be. I would rather be appreciated as unique by some and eschewed as odd by most than be loved by all as merely enjoyable."
