History: It all started when my friend Kate "had an idea." She reserved tables at a restaurant in Leesburg and invited other single friends for a get-together. Brenda and Chip were among those initially invited and in attendance, which lead to further discussion and the offer to assist with the logistics. That's when "Single Professionals of Loudoun" was "born" (11/13/2007). Currently it has >400 members & is private.
Future: At the request of several Charter Members, I decided to start this Meetup that will be limited in its membership numbers to NO >100 & will basically be "Friends and Friends-of-Friends" in nature.
Goal: The usual fun of a diverse activities, remaining more personal in nature, whereby folks will be able to maintain & root in meaningful long term friendships.
Membership: Is NOT limited to singles only - it's for all Professionals; Single, Married, Divorcee, Separated, Never-been-marrieds. It will contain a well-rounded membership & won't be purposely weighted in any particular direction, married or single.
* The emphasis is on the integral concept of Friendship.
* Activities will include indoor & outdoor activities.
* Charity Activity: Members are asked to participate in NO <2/year.
* Once membership is established, there can be Assistant Coordinators or Event Leads to help with ideas, scheduling and/or leading an event.
* Activity Examples: Potlucks, Poker Nights, Bonfires, Skiing, Board-Game Nights, Super Bowl Party, New Years Eve Plans, Biking, Hiking, Golf, Bowling, Weekend Getaways, Guys Only & Girls Only Fun events, Wine Tours, Halloween Party, Museum visits, Movie Nights, Nights @ the movies, Lunches, Dinners, Lessons of Interest, Theater/Comedy Shows, Dancing, Dance Lessons, Happy Hours...you get the idea!
