Greetings Parents of kids with Autism, Asperger's ADD/ADHD, and other related differences,

Are you looking for a way to help your child improve their social skills? Does your child get stuck on one topic? Does your child have huge meltdowns over not-so-huge problems? Would you like to see your child be a little more flexible?
If you answered yes, have you heard about Superflex(TM) or Social Thinking(R)?

Social Thinking(R) is an exciting and innovative approach helping kids develop “social smarts” by becoming social thinkers. Social Thinking uses a cognitive behavioral approach to teach the social cause and effect of “expected” and “unexpected” behaviors. Social Thinking creatively and effectively teaches kids perspective taking, social cognition and social communication.

Superflex(TM) is a curriculum geared towards children K-5, but I think it can also be effective through the 8th grade. As a clinical social worker and a school social worker, I have not found any program (and there are a lot of them out there) that comes close to reaching kids the way this program does.
Superflex is the superhero that is trying to save Social Town from the team of Unthinkables. These Unthinkables are the characters that are getting into kids' brains and preventing them from making smart social choices. Characters such as Glassman, who shatters or has big meltdowns over little problems, or the BrainEater who gets into kids brains and makes them wonder, to Bodysnatcher, who makes kids' bodies go to other places other than where they should be. There are 14 different Unthinkables that Superflex is trying to stop from destroying Social Town.

Social Thinking(R) and Superflex(TM) are based off the work of Michelle Garcia Winner.  See her website, www.socialthinking.com
