Attend Break the Bubble #9

  • March 14 · 7:00 PM

Break the Bubble was created to solve a big problem: How do you make new friends in the Twin Cities? Events are free. Not a dating service or sale pitch. Just a social organizations at various establishments around town. A link to the website with instructions on how to register is included below. http://btbmpls.com/

Thanks to everyone who come up to me and talked to me. I was at the end of the bar and talked to everyone after they register at the front desk when you first come in the door

I ran into a few of you there. Great meeting you!

Great turnout, but band was too loud and made conversation difficult. Overall enjoyable evening.

    March 15

  • Justin

I loved it! I left before the band, but I liked the venue bc there was dancing!

    March 15

  • Joshua Vigdal

Awesome. Everything was great, besides the band

    March 15

  • Will Herrmann

Good way to meet people, but having a band was a mistake, as it meant that we had to practically scream over each other in order to hear our conversation

If I have a ticket through Eventbrite does that mean I am good to go?

    March 14

  • Lisa

It said I was on the wait list for the link. I got an email from meetup shortly after saying "see you there." How do I know if I have a spot?

    March 14

  • Micki

For those venturing out solo and wanting to know you have someone there to meet--I am planning to be there close to start time at 7pm. If it helps you to find me: I'm wearing navy leggings, brown boots, and a tan shirt. Come on over and say hi!

The event extended limited tickets due to capacity restrictions at the venue. Out of respect for those that have registered, I can't advise showing up without a confirmed registration. You are certainly welcome to try; I am not sure what their policy is for admitting people who are not registered.

Is calling them the best way to find out then

Looking forward to meeting new people and hanging out at a cool venue.

OK.. one more question. Is this the kind of event you have to be at exactly at start time, or do people come and go throughout the time?
    THANKS

Hi Nicole--glad you were able to get a ticket after all! It's an open house format, come and go when you want. Look forward to meeting you.

I've been to all but one Break the Bubble event, so here's why no one should worry:
    No on knows anyone.
    That's the reason it started!

The whole point is to meet lots of new friends. When I go, I usually don't know anyone at the beginning of the night.

If you see me, please say "hi" because I really want to meet YOU.

    Justin

    PS It'll be crowded.

I was really looking forward to it, but my friends are insisting that I attend a Pi Day party :/. So I changed my RSVP. Next time!

Are we making any attempt to meet up with each other throughout this event? For someone doing this event as a first time with this meet up I ask since I don't know anyone. :D

If you did NOT register and get accepted through the Break the Bubble website (listed in the event description and again here), then you should not plan to attend tomorrow. If you did not register thru Break the Bubble, will you please update your RSVP here so I know how many people to look for tomorrow. If you did register thru Break the Bubble and can no longer attend, please let the organizers at Break the Bubble know as there is a waitlist for people who still want to come and would love your spot. Thanks!

Super disappointed that I didn't understand we had to register on BOTH here and their website. Got my RSVP in here a while ago, but not on there. I'm hoping for spots to open on waitlist.

    March 12

    • Justin

Yeah, don't have to RSVP here. Just follow the link. I was actually already going before I I saw this meetup event.

Hi. I just signed up for this event...it sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun! Just to clarify things though, we must RSVP on here and register on their website as well, right?

    February 26

    • Micki

Blake, you really only need to register on their website. RSVP here helps us know who all to look for at the event.

      March 4

    • Blake

      Gotcha, thanks...see you there :)

      March 6

  • Micki

Registration opened today. It is FREE. Please only register if you are for sure going to attend, or update your RSVP as soon as you find out you are not attending because they do limit it to 140 registrants and they do "sell out" so be respectful of others who want to go if you or your plans change. Thank you!
