Hi, this sounds like a really fun group!
At first they hated each other's style, were really frustrated trying to work together (we played half rock, half disco) but by the end they were teaching each other their styles and loving it! Might have been the best accomplishment of that band! Was sure a pleasure to watch! I would love to read ahead in your story if you care to post more!! It's quite fresh and very lively and interesting. I felt the 15 pages went by very quickly. Thanks for a great experience!
I strive for perfection, but that perfection is relevant to the vision. Many times I know something is "wrong" but it is exactly what I want it to be. So when someone overs something, I know if it rings true to my vision or not. Everyone has a slightly different perspective and that makes it a great group! We wouldn't be broadening our experience if we all liked the same stuff and wrote the same way. I had a band with 2 guitarists once. One was pure rock, one was soul/blues, nothing in common.
Hi Michael! Loved the event! Loved your piece. Don't think I didn't because of my notes! Remember I'm a bit OCD, but it's offered to polish something IF it should be. Your bold creativity is definitely a diamond, polished or not polished, as your vision sees fit. lol! You should see the notes on Mike's! And his writing is awesome! But there's always stuff, that is why we have critique groups... heck! I had more notes on my own piece than all of you guys put together! lol!
Welcome to Writers of Central Florida or Thereabouts, Michael. So true what you say about being born and then one day. You wake up one day and realize you have a knack for putting words on paper. And then it just won't let go. Looking forward to having you in the group. Working this week on a date and location for our first meet up. I'll keep you posted.
Thanks for joining the Florida Writer’s Association / Orlando group. We meet the first Wednesday of every month from 6:30 to 8:30pm at the University Club in Winter Park. Each month we invite different speakers to educate us on publishing, marketing, writing, editing, book cover design, query letters, and several other topics. For more information on FWA visit www.floridawriters.net. If you have any additional questions, please email me at [masked].
Hi, Michael. Thanks for the heads up! Yah, if you know you can't make it by 5, then it's best to not try to come. Thanks for appreciating the reason why. :-) They just don't let people come in after a show starts (something that has to do with peoples' vision & disrupting the presentation and whatnot). I'm glad that you're gonna try to come though! Parking is hassle-free; it's right in front of the planetarium & it's free. Since you'd be late, park & look for us behind the main entrance.
Hi, Michael! Were you able to get a ticket for this Saturday?! I wonder if you had issues like many of us did. By the way, the current RSVP count is actually 5, not 14 (some people have not changed their RSVP when they couldn't get tickets). Please let me know ASAP. I'm supposed to call the director tomorrow. Thanks! I may just have us go to a private presentation (that I e-mailed everyone about-- hope you got it) & CANCEL Saturday's meetup-- depending what the rest of ya tell me.
Welcome to the LC (30 Something) Singles group. Hope to see you soon! I'll be posting some events soon! Hope you can make them.
