Wine & Mead Tasting, Tour and Dinner in Salem

Every Saturday in Salem, one of my favorite stores Pamplemousse (French word for grapefruit) has wine and mead tasting for FREE! We will sample different adult beverages and have some snacks...After, I will give the group a free guided tour (I work for Salem Historical Tours), and then we will end for dinner at one of Salem's awesome restaurants...More information to follow!

I just wanted to leave a comment about not getting the message about the cancellation. I also did not get a message about the cancellation for I have turned off notifications for comments on events. When I suspected something wrong, then I went to my smartphone to check the comments and then realized what happened. Meetup generates so many emails. I think a lot of people also deactivated this feature. In addition to leaving comments, I recommend that organizers send an email message to the event attendees. To ultimately communicate the message that the event is cancelled, an organizer could also cancel the event all together. This would remove the event completely and send an automatic email about the cancellation. However, it all worked out. It was a beautiful and enjoyable day.

Hope you are feeling better Beth : )
I wish you had asked another Meet-up member to send an email letting us know you were sick and unable to make it. I checked my emails before I went. I never thought of checking the Meetup website... I will in the future.
The wine tasting was a "bust."
They only sampled a red and white wine. Maybe a quarter of an ounce each. It was over in a minute...or less.
I enjoyed the Peabody Essex Museum : )

Maybe we can rearrange another day, find a place for brunch and then Beth can take us for a tour! What do u think? What a bummer about the wine tasting :(

Hi Beth we can do it again as I would like to experience the tour as well :) for those who were able to make it, how was the wine tasting?

The wine tasting only took 5 minutes, one bottle of red and one bottle of white. However it was a beautiful day, so we walked around and some of us attended the Sensational Indian Festival at the Peabody Essex Museum. They had dance and music performances, it was quite a treat. It was a very pleasant afternoon.

That's strange that you did not get it Sandy.I got the email about 11:20. It came through the conversations on the website.Too bad about the wine tasting. I am still looking forward to the next one...we can always stop for wine and apps along the way. Glad you are not being admitted Beth, they only admit you if you are almost dead...I am sure you felt like it with that high temp!!! Take care !

Glad you are on the mend Beth! Given the cold and windy weather today, it's probably for the best that we do it when it is a bit warmer.

I feel so bad I couldn't be there! Still in ER but not staying overnight. Fever is coming down. I'll be hosting this event again next month if anyone missed it today.

Any tips on where to park?

    April 5, 2013

    • Eric S.

Best place to park is the MBTA Commuter Rail
      https://maps.google.co...

Or park at the PEM Parking lot that is paid:

For theMBTA lot, there is a big sign that states that it is for rail passengers only, would you happen to know how strict they are. Do they really tow you if you are not a rail passenger?

There is a group of us are here. We are still attending the tasting. The tasting starts at 2pm, so we are at the food court inside the museum mall until tasting time. If anyone wants to join us meet us at 2pm outside the front door.

Hey everyone, I'm sorry to not get back to you sooner. I'm actually in the ER and may be admitted. I have a very high fever. I am going to reschedule this event unless anyone would like to take over. But since I was giving a tour, I'm thinking I better just cancel. Please accept my apologies!!

We may not make it, sorry not definite either way. Store does post 2-4, is this a private sampling at 1? Basically do not wait for us for the tour! Thanks for understanding

The website says the wine testing starts at 2PM? You have 1PM listed, just wanted to make sure that is correct

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
