Please join Steve Ob1 and friends and about 75 to 90 other friends Friday July 19th at 7pm., or Saturday at 8am. at the Ski Wheelers Lodge for a meet and greet, get settled and prepare for Saturday trip down river.    We will be floating down the Saco River on Saturday from 9am to 3pm.  We suggest that you have your drinks frozen the night before, and that you have a good sun screen. You will also need a good gun for this. They have river pirates on the Soco river, and they are everywhere! Some of those pirates are almost six years old. So, a good water gun is imperative to keep from being hosed all the way down river.  Afterwards we will gather back at the Lodge Saturday evening for a family style dinner of lobster & steak, or  chicken & steak!   We will checkout Sunday July 21st noon.

  • What’s Included:

    • Friday and Saturday night Lodging (bunk beds with 2 -6 people per room
    • Friday Night - Refreshments Meet & Greet, (Bring your own beverages if desired)
    • Saturday & Sunday - Make Your Own Breakfast (all you want breakfast foods provided)
    • Canoe (two per canoe) or Kayak Rental available was included in the total price.
    • Picnic lunch and soft drinks on the Saco River
    • Saturday night Lobster, Chicken and or Steak dinner with corn on the cob, baked potato and desert and more. (BYOB - bring your own beverage)

    What to Bring:

    • A small cooler (no glass)
    • A fleece sweater or jacket (It can get cool and windy on the river)
    • Foul weather gear (we go even if it rains!)
    • A dry bag or a large zip-lock bag to keep things dry
    • An arsenal of water-ejecting weaponry (please NO water balloons)
    • Insect repellent and sunscreen
    • Beach towel, bathing suit, water shoes/sandals or old sneakers
    • A sleeping bag or linens & blankets, pillow, bath towel and toiletries
    • Your sense of adventure, a willingness to help out, and your sense of humor

We may still have some spot opening. But, if you have not sent your check in yet? July 9th was the deadline to get your check into Wayne Potter for the Kayak weekend. We have couple of people who have sent their money in. But, they can not make it. So there maybe some spots still open. The money is needed to reserve boats, lodging, and order the lobsters and other foods.

We have over 30 from Meetup joining us this weekend. That should put us with around 75 people going down river with us. Plus, the weather is looking good.
See you all there, Steve Ob1.

ann w Yes, you can do the trip down river with us with out renting a boat, or staying at the lodge. You could just do the dinner we will have after the trip down river. There is a price for just that. If you want to do that?

Can novices (kayak or canoe) attend?

    May 13, 2013

    • Steve O.

Novices kayakers are what most will be. But, you need to be a expert with a water gun for this trip.

Is the price lower if you bring your own canoe?

    May 13, 2013

    • Steve O.

Last year, you would subtract $25. from the total. If you bring your own boat. But, they don't have the prices yet for this year.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
