An Evening of Chinese Culture with Tai Chi & Tea Tasting

Want to relax, doing Tai Chi and becoming a Chinese Tea tasting expert?  Try our Combination of Tai Chi and Tea Tasting!

Tai Chi-8:15-9:15pm

Following Sifu Huan, and doing the first 13 movements of Yang Style Tai Chi. Huan is the 6th generation of Yang Style Tai Chi. He is also the author of the book "Seeing Beyond the Tai Chi Footprint". You have seen his articles featured in the international Tai Chi Magazine. He studied under 3 Grandmasters from Yang family. Instructor David Watts will  then give instructions of detailed Tai Chi movements while Huan preparing for the tea tasting. David learned Tai Chi from several famous Tai Chi instructors and studied Yang Style Tai Chi under  Sifu Huan. He has assisted Huan in many demonstrations, including Boston Green Fest, and demos on Rose Kennedy Green Way. He has many years of teaching experience and has been an assistant to Sifu Huan for the last several years. He will start some warms up to relax people before teaching the Tai Chi moves.

Tea Tasting- 9:15pm - 10:15pm

Sifu Huan will close the class with a Chinese tea-tasting ceremony.   Huan inherited many tea knowledge from well known Chinese tea master, Long, whom is also a member of the Chinese Tea Association from Bei Jing, China. Huan has brought 4 types of top quality tea from China and is looking forward to sharing both the tea itself and the knowledge about the tea. Tea is limited, so this is a rare opportunity. We hope you will be able to join this special occasion to learn more about Tai Chi and Chinese tea!

* We will do tea tasting (not tea drinking), so you will not drink a lot of tea to keep you awake. You will have little tea to relax you and help you rest later.

Huan's Tai Chi 7 Temple Street, Cambridge (direct entrance into our studio is inside the YWCA building near Central Square T Station)

Fee: $10 for Tai Chi class, $10 for tea ceremony, $15 for class+tea.

All ages welcome!

I'll be late, if my name even clears... I hope I'll be able to make it for Tai Chi, if not, I'll be there for the tea ceremony

We actually can fit 20 people for Tai Chi that night. It's the tea tasting limits people to 12. Because I have limited tea, and I don't have a huge tea pot to serve( we don't use huge tea pot for tea tasting) and I want make sure everyone gets attention in the tea event. So feel free to come to Tai Chi class even if name never clears.

Hi Huan, I would really love to attend in November if I am able to figure out how to get there. . . I am not familiar with using the subway or MBTA having lived in Maine for 30 years. . . I live in the North Shore area now and I have always wanted to learn Tai Chi and the tea ceremony would be fun too!
