Due to time constraints my friend and I had to break off from the main group early, but it was good to see the members we did see, however briefly. There seemed to be a good showing for this meetup...On a personal note: 13 cups-Yum!(Maybe TOO yummy:-p)SoCo Creamery's Lemon Poppyseed ruled! Many thanks to Victoria for organizing. I would never have done this event on my own.

It was fun to try alot of different and unique flavors. My favorite was Cake Mix by Baskin Robins. Met some new faces and caught up with my old friends. Thanks Victoria for hosting!

Btw, the address of the"Starbuck's"-with the golden kettle still hanging there, out front, as people have said-is: 63-65 Court St.

I also work late, so I'll try my best to locate the group, or rather parts of the group. Lol!

If you want to start salivating in advance and planning your itinerary, here's a link with a list of all the flavors at the various booths. http://www.jimmyfund.org/eve/event/scooper-bowl/flavors.html

I'm aware of the meetup time. I was just curious as to whether the kettle was still there. The Steaming Kettle was one of my favorite spots back when I worked downtown and before Starbucks took over all the coffee shops and breakfast places.

Victoria - is the steaming kettle still there? I thought they had taken it away when the restaurant called "The Steaming Kettle" went out of business. Doesn't matter in terms of finding the group, just curious.

Victoria-Kim brings up a good point. In the description, above, you say "Let's meet...on the corner of State Street and Cambridge Street," but I don't think State St. ever actually reaches Cambridge St. It appears-from the map-that, at some point, State St. stops and becomes COURT St., and Court St. goes on to intersect with Cambridge St. Don't mean to "be technical," just want to minimize whatever confusion there might be. Thanks. :-)

Yeah, I'm daring to be optomistic-but, then, I'm no "Haavey Lennid." :-p

even though it is misting out today, they sound like they are having fun at the scooperbowl this afternoon!

    June 5, 2012

Well for those who like ice-cream more than rain I will be holding the event unless it's Raining cat's and dogs. Maybe after we can all head to a local pub for a beer to dry off.

    June 4, 2012

  • Eli

there's gonna be rain AND cold. We're paying now for the dry winter and spring.

    June 4, 2012

  • Ronald M

I am only attending if it is dry. I'm sorry if that bothers anyone.

    June 4, 2012

  • Victoria

Looks Like rain all week. Are people still interested in going if it's a bit wet? Last year they had the ice-cream under tents, so it shouldn't be too bad.

    June 4, 2012

  • Kim

We can get this discount when we arrive or does this has to be in advance? I checked out the website and it says you have to contact the Jimmy Fund for $2 discount for a group of 15+

    June 3, 2012

  • Eli

I'm always on time...don't believe in being "fashionably late." :-)

    May 31, 2012

  • Phaedra

That's up to Victoria, since it's her event but thinking if we arrive at admission as a group, should be no reason not to get the discount. Everyone likes to save money.. so be on time if you can!

    1 · May 31, 2012

  • Eli

great discovery, Phaedra. Do we all have to arrive and pay together, or will 1 person have to buy for everyone?

    May 31, 2012

  • Phaedra

I just found out on their website that groups of 15 or more get $2.00 off their ticket. http://www.scooperbowl.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=1012188

    May 31, 2012

  • Victoria

You can pay admission at the entry.

    May 28, 2012
