Southbury Dog Park

The Town of Southbury is fortunate to have the use of land owned by O & G Industries as a dog park. This cooperative venture with O & G Industries, the Town of Southbury and Friends of the Southbury Dog Park has been an overwhelming success. The property is located off of Roxbury Road (RT.67) across from the Red Horse Stables. The entrance is through the O & G Industries' entrance, on the right a short distance in. Owners can bring their dog(s) to enjoy the company of other dogs, to play a game of fetch, or go for a dip in the stream. It is an off-leash area for dogs with picnic tables and even a fenced off area for small or shy dogs. Take advantage of the trails, too! You don't need a dog to come just have to be a dog-lover to have a fun time!

*If you feel that you have a dog that is either too timid or too aggressive, please refrain from attending.  This park tends to have a lot of dogs during the weekends and especially with nice weather.  It can get overwhelming both for you and your pooch.*

I suggested this to my other group, WCOA (Please don't double-RSVP)

Hi, I'm new to group and looking forward to meeting you all and your best friends. My dog is Presley. He's a four year old collie mix (golden in color) with some shepherd and greyhound in his genes. Runs like the wind. We normally visit Shelton Dog Park but are always open for a good ride (his favorite hobby) and look forward to Southbury.

Yes, strongly agreed! Adopted dogs are much better in many ways. But good luck with the search!

I work with Sunshine Golden Retriever Rescue and have 3 rescue dogs of my own. I can vouch for how wonderful these pups are and they seem to know that you have saved them. Many rescue dog groups also post available dogs on

I actually do have one, lol. it's a leash with a harness. I could always borrow a dog or just bring a bunch of tennis balls and frisbees to play with the other dogs!

This is a little ways away but I should be good to go! Weather should be nice and warmer by then also which will be nice. I'll likely be there so look for me with my dog Desmo, a German Shepherd :)
