We often hear moans that our current parliament features far too few scientists, and instead is packed with lawyers, economists and used car salesmen. But what would it actually mean to pack our parliament with scientists? Would we really get better policy outcomes? Would we get truly evidence based policy? In this talk Will Grant will explore how scientists and politicians might work together for best policy outcomes.

Dr Will Grant is a writer, talker, thinker and reader based at the Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science. His work has mostly focused on the intersection of science, politics and society, and how this is changing in response to new technologies.

A very thought provoking subject and Dr Will Grant is an excellent presenter. He deftly got the conversation started. I liked the informality of the forum maybe why there was so much audience participation.
