The workshop is lead by Mario Herger, Senior Innovation Strategist at SAP Labs in Palo Alto.
Gamification is the use of game design techniques & mechanics to solve problems and engage audiences. Gamification strives to encourage users to engage in desired behaviors in connection with non-game applications.
Gamification ”works,” when it inspires the users to perform essential tasks for the organization and to commit, through this game with a clear set of rules. The method uses the advantages of human psychology and people’s inclination to respond or behave in a certain manner. The game has clear rules, and the user has the autonomy/independence to gain expertise, to gain points, and receive rewards for completing these tasks.
In the digital world, gamification is one of the best ways to shape online user behavior.
Research has proven that companies that have embraced behavioral platforms are better able to improve procedures. Hence, these companies achieve a higher level of customer loyalty and retention. Further, the implementation of behavioral platforms assist in building reputation, transferring information, learning, satisfaction surveys and more, through an unique and dynamic user experience.
Many companies have already begun integrating the elements of gamification so as to enhance the experience of clients, employees, and marketing channels. The message is: We are here and we are fun to do business.
Gartner estimates that 70% of the 2000 leading companies worldwide will embrace gamification by 2015.
