Hi, I am Debs. I am a member of the Twin Cities local of DSA, the largest organization of Socialists in the USA. I started this group to allow socialists of different tendencies to meet and socialize without drama or strife.
It's my mission in life!
Doug and Linda were there, despite the media madness they are experiencing after their lawsuit against a state official that stopped the stadium bond sale. Two new people, a couple, Joan & Jim, who heard about it from Mike, who was trying to attend, but did not make it due to work. A new guy, Benjy (sp?), heard about it on Facebook. Linda, Troy, their son Lewis and friend Dylan. Captain Jack Sparrow. And I make 11. And my little dog Koby. We had lasagne and ginger ale and sweet-potato-pecan pie, and a tour of the church for those that wanted it. We had interesting discussions about anarchism, socialist factions, 9-11, Occupy abroad, socialist systems in other countries, atheism and several other topics. Debs
Welcome to the Minneapolis Book Club Deborama, so glad to have you! I love your self-description - am curious to see how both the iconoclastic and cuddly sides of your personality shape the discussions :-)
Debs! I am so happy that you are a liver, lover, explorer. This is a perfect time to do some yogaing, learning and living! I very much look forward to meeting you soon!
Hi, Deb (nice drawing of you, btw :))
I've really wanted to attend these, but apart from illness (had a cold last month), Thursdays always conflict with the Occupy St. Paul meetings, which I would like to keep attending. However, please don't change the date if I am the only one. I will make sure to attend next time regardless since these are only once a month and OSP are every week or so. I'm really looking forward to joining y'all soon. Please keep me posted and I'll make time to come.
Thanks for the welcome. I am a grandmother as well, though we don't see the kids too often. Would love to add you as a friend (when I figure out how). In the meantime, you can find me on Facebook as well.
Liecester? Did you stay dry?
How does once a month on a Sunday at around early supper time sound for socialists socializing?
You are right about Kabbalah having a neat way of defining "knowing everything". It is the original system out of which all other systems evolved, so no matter how we believe or have mastered, it has a place in Kabbalah. I hope you can join us for the free presentation evening on June 7. As well, we are starting a 10-month long Kabbalah series in June and starting it June 9-10. Please visit my web site and contact me if you want more info

I love your name (or I presume "fun name"!) I saw your meetup group pop up! I like the acronym SAS! Woo hoo. Did you see the upcoming meetup in July for Keith Ellison?
Hi Deb - I noticed you had a table at the MayDay celebration? Maybe I get a chance to meet ya there.
