Sorry for the hiatus guys/gals!
Let's get together again. Bring papers if you'd like or just your brain!
I have a few location ideas, but I'd love the input of those that would like to attend. So, thoughts:
-Thirsty Bear: http://www.yelp.com/biz/thirstybear-brewing-company-san-francisco
-Mikkeller Bar: http://www.yelp.com/biz/mikkeller-bar-san-francisco
Any other ideas? I've yet to go to any of the above so I'm open to suggestions.

As requested, here are some links to things that were discussed during the meetup.
Biology course about the foundations of life as we understand them. Introduction to Biology - The Secret of Life, by Eric Lander https://www.edx.org/course/mitx/mitx-7-00x-introduction-biology-secret-1014
Quantum Computation course (intense assignments but very, very interesting content for the mathematically/computationally literate). https://www.edx.org/course/uc-berkeleyx/uc-berkeleyx-cs-191x-quantum-mechanics-1033
Great conversations all! I really had a good time. :-)

Work ran late, had to bail . . . err, never made it
Running late but I will be there. Where in thirsty bear are you?
Downstairs! Common table
Scratch that ... Downstairs!
Uh, where exactly? :-)
We'll be in a room upstairs! Ask for Hannah :)
I'm out too, the monthly Haskell meetup is Tonight.
I'm afraid me as well. I'm in proposal hell!
Have to bow out, my new job just let me know that I am in Phase I and it starts tomorrow. For me, tonight is for prep work, not fun science talk. Sighh.
Arrgh, not sure I can make this after all, even with the date change! So sorry Hannah--hope to see you guys again soon!
Apologies again everyone for the last minute change!!

I also wouldn't mind rescheduling. I double-booked myself for this time slot and wouldn't mind having the decision made for me. :-)

So, I've had a slight hiccup in my week... I'll be traveling for work until next Wednesday :/.
Everyone is more than welcome to still meet!! Just let me know whether it's preferable that I reschedule or not.
No worries, Hannah. I'd vote for rescheduling, since I've been looking forward to meeting our organizer! And no reason others can't still meet up if they want to.

Rescheduling works great for me. We are shipping a release this week at work.
Thirsty Bear does have a quieter upstairs area that's good for a group like ours

I'd vote for Thirsty Bear because I love the food there, and the beer is made in-house. Mikkeller has a very interesting beer list, good food but on the pricey side for what you get. Another nice option is Kokkari, http://www.yelp.com/biz/kokkari-estiatorio-san-francisco, fantastic food and wines from interesting regions. Not sure if all that helps or just confuses the issue! No shortage of good places in SF.

dorkbotSF is that day, but I might make it.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
