We are the oldest, continuously gathering Socrates Café in the World. Please add your voice to the discussion.

Socrates thought that understanding the perspectives of others made him a more excellent human being. In this spirit, the purpose of the Socrates Café is not to persuade others to our point of view, but to deepen our understanding of the views of everyone who participates.

Please join us this month for the next Socrates Café and another ninety minutes of philosophical exploration.

Sorry to have missed it these last couple of times. Can you post what the question was?

Hi Deb. We've missed you! Last month the questions was: "Is there such a thing as too much freedom?". Last night we discussed "What is evil?" Hope to see you again soon.

Interesting question, with more facets to explore than could be done in several lifetimes.

Since I am still newish in this area, I'm dubious about being able to find Mayfield Library. The map directions make me nervous. Loved the group when I came last time and may come in the future, but this time I probably ought to pass.

Is Coffee Phix open in the new spot?

    • Doc J.

Not yet. I have no idea what is going on. I know the new spot will be much smaller when - if - it opens.

The Richmond branch of CCPL has a meeting room that might be available - and it's free.
