This event is for new and experienced practitioners to share and create product manager best-practices for Drupal-based content management sites. Attendees are expected to have a basic understanding of the Drupal framework, including modules, content, nodes, blocks, publishing, themes, and workflows prior to attending the meeting. Walk away with better templates, approaches, and ideas for your role as a product manager. Templates, best-practices, etc. created at the event will be posted on our global site, www.spdma.org, under the Creative Commons shared license so that you can freely refer to it again and share it with your teams at work. Discussion topics: • What to do and ask before starting an online newspaper, extranet, intranet, or other publishing site • Sitemaps • Wireframes • Requirements Templates • Roles and Workflows • Stories (agile) • Plans and Estimates • Business Models/Commerce Drupal-based content management products are a little different than completely custom built products because Drupal comes with its own framework, lingo, and pre-built functionality. Given this commonality, developers and designers expect certain kinds of direction. Therefore, product managers on Drupal-based content management sites have similar techniques and methods. Examples will be focused on online newspapers, extranets, intranets and other publishing sites. Please bring a few printed hard-copy examples of templates, plans, and designs you’ve used on your own projects, but delete any confidential information from them. Beja Springer, who works on these kinds of sites, will facilitate the interactive discussion. See you at the event!

Very nice discussion. If we have another related event, then we'll have an expert speaker.

Would love to see a follow-up with a PM who has worked extensively with Drupal.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
