I'm excited to announce our next event in San Francisco.
A SWRE group member has very kindly offered to present some of his work to the rest of the group.
Dr. Ryan Wartena from GELI (Growing Energy Labs Inc, www.geli.net) will be giving a talk called:
"Developing software for Microgrids: Evolving the power grid into an Internet of Energy"
Dr. Wartena will review historical power grid operations and introduce a technical and social strategy to bring forth an Internet of Energy operated by everybody through microgrids, networked energy storage, and software technologies. There will be a discussion on the Energy Operating System (EOS), a platform for software developers to 'program the grid' and an open discussion to answer any technical or business questions on how the electrical grid works.
More details to come as we get closer... I'm still hoping to find a good food sponsor for this event. If you know of a local restaurant which might be up for such a sponsorship, please let me know via the comments for this event.
