Microgrid SW in SF

Hey Partygoers,

I'm excited to announce our next event in San Francisco.

A SWRE group member has very kindly offered to present some of his work to the rest of the group.

Dr. Ryan Wartena from GELI (Growing Energy Labs Inc, www.geli.net) will be giving a talk called:

"Developing software for Microgrids: Evolving the power grid into an Internet of Energy"

Dr. Wartena will review historical power grid operations and introduce a technical and social strategy to bring forth an Internet of Energy operated by everybody through microgrids, networked energy storage, and software technologies.  There will be a discussion on the Energy Operating System (EOS), a platform for software developers to 'program the grid' and an open discussion to answer any technical or business questions on how the electrical grid works.

More details to come as we get closer... I'm still hoping to find a good food sponsor for this event. If you know of a local restaurant which might be up for such a sponsorship, please let me know via the comments for this event.

Hey All... it's been a week already since we met, but let's try to keep the conversation going between now and we catch up again.

Unfortunately, I messed something up with the live stream. While it did stream live, it turns out that it didn't persist the video to youtube as I was expecting. I'm sorry that I can't share the video with you... and I'm especially sorry that I had to leave early and was really looking forward to catching the remainder of Ryan's presentation via the video.

I'm talking with Ryan and as soon as I get them, I'll forward his slides along to you.

In the meantime, here are the slides I started the meeting with:

Notice: these are just the few slides I started the meeting with.

I'll follow up with slides and more goodies soon.

    Hi David,
I'm the designer/developer of a microgrid structure that Ryan and Geli are provider/parnters in. If you have any room left, I'd like to stop by the meetup, as I'll be attending InterSolar later in the afternoon and in SF

      Hi Tom,

I still have a few sown seeds which might yes sprout... but things aren't looking great for getting food sponsored by Monday night. Sorry guys :(

If you have any contacts or pull at any nearby restaurants... why not check whether they'd be able to sponsor our dinner that night. Let me know if you want to reach out to someone and I can provide you with the script I use.

But if worst comes to worst... we'll just have to go BYOD (bring your own dinner). Regardless, I'm sure we'll have a fantastic presentation from Ryan and a great discussion afterwards!
