Evening Meet & Greet in the Park - Benicia

Let's start off our new group the right way, with an introductory evening in one of Benicia's lesser-known, but beautiful parks. Bring food to munch on if you like. I'll bring a snack for everyone. I'll also bring along a tested ancient drought watering system that was tested in two other homesteading groups I belong to. It's cheap, simple and more effective than any of our testers had planned on. Francesca Terrace Park is at the end of Hillcrest Avenue. From East 2nd Street, turn onto Hillcrest (Hillcrest only runs one direction from E 2nd), then travel down Hillcrest to the end. There is a parking lot to park in.

Hi all, nice to meet you last night. i got a post on Facebook this morning from Erika that might interest some of you: Seeking Benicians for seafood CSA: our sustainable food organizers have convinced to try a drop off here in Benicia on Weds. Just had a lovely dinner of super fresh lingcod straight from Bodega, fished with sustainable techniques. We need a few more signups to meet the minimum to keep the drop off. Anyone willing to consider this meaningful "think globally, act locally" action? Check out their site.

The easier way to get to the park is to take East 5th St. off ramp .... take a left on East 5th and go to the top of the hill - 6 blocks up to the stop sign - that is Hillcrest - go right to the park.

I am looking for a master gardener to work with me on the Fischer - Hanlon House Victorian Botanical Gardens in Benicia. State Parks hired a landscape architect - who in turn produced a lovely consultants report ..... of course Parks can not locate the report (pub. 2008). The long and short of it is, I have the original plat/plant listing (from 2006). The work now at hand is to verify what material is still in existance in the garden and then to work on what needs to be done to facilitate the approprite use/timing etc. of the newly installed drip system. Enough said on part - please either see me tonight at the 6:30 event or drop a line if you might have time - interest in this project. Yours, Robin Lancaster

I am looking forward to meeting others who have chickens - need to find someone willing to care for my brood while I am away. Will happily share the same for someone.
