Get Involved in Solar Energy Planning! Please attend a meeting or submit comments
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is seeking public input on solar energy development on public lands. Please speak up on this important issue!
The BLM has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in order to evaluate lands across Arizona that may be suitable for renewable energy development. In order to minimize impacts to the environment, they propose to identify Renewable Energy Development Areas with few resource conflicts. including previously disturbed lands, such as landfills or old mine sites, as well as one Solar Energy Zone for utility-scale (greater than 20 MW) solar development.
You can find out more information online, including how to submit comments, or participate in the following public meeting:
This is a group for people who want to learn about, or share their experiences, solar and other alternative energy sources.
Note that we have changed our name from The Solar Society to Solar Guild/Citizens for Solar. These two non-profits are about to join together, and since they both share the same interests as Solar Society members, I've decided to simplify things by using the same name for everything.
