Where and how do they harvest the heat?

This is not a scam unless the University of Arizona Roger Angel project, which is essentially the same, is a scam. The mount structures are different with the Zenith Solar looking much better in my opinion. The optics are probably different as the UA system uses a spherical lens for the final focus (the Zenith optics are not shown). The high "efficiency" is from using a combined photoelectric (a very advanced and expensive multi-spectrum cell) and a thermal system (just for heat). The UA system quotes similar numbers. If the reeiver is designed properly it doesn't have the high losses you are concerned with although that design must be tested to see if it actually achieves the stated efficiencies. The opening apparature to the
receiver has to be as small as possible.
