Rose Parade Bandit Run!

This is an unofficial 11 mile run that starts at the Starbucks (3429 East Foothill Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91107). There are many FREE parking spaces available at the Sierra Madre train station. Please do not park at Starbucks unless someone is dropping you off as this is a mall. You will be ticketed or towed for extended parking. Please park across the street at the Metro station.

This run basically starts at the end of the Rose Parade route, goes to the beginning (we get there around 5:50 am 10 min/mile pace) where we can spend approximately 30-45 minutes viewing the floats.

We will meet up again at approximately 6:45 a.m. and head back down the parade route to the Starbucks to enjoy some hot coffee/tea/chocolate.

I will be leaving Starbucks at 5 AM but I will be there as early as 4:30 AM (in case 10 min/mile pace is too fast and you want to leave a little earlier). We have all pace runners - you will find someone to run with!

It was in the 30's last year so you need to dress appropriately - the key is to layer! Gloves are a great idea.

Contact Coach Steve at [masked] if you want to join.

Up at 3:30 AM, drive to Pasadena with friends, run 5.5 miles up to see the floats (that are amazing right before the parade starts), run 5.5 miles back to coffee, visit with friends, drive home. A MUST do non-event!

I'm more of 11 min pace so will get there early, is there a map or address of where we meet so I can meet with you all by the floats?
    Looking forward to meet you!

Caroline, there will be people of EVERY pace running, including much slower than 11s. If you want to arrive at the floats at 6-6:15 AM, figure out the time you need to leave Starbucks, and join a group leaving about that time. Sole Runners will be wearing their white tech shirts and will be easy to spot on the run, but there are a lot of people at the floats and connecting there is a little more difficult. Coach Steve's number (for texting) is[masked]-9181. LeAnn's number is[masked]-4444. Steve will be with the faster runners and LeAnn with the slower.

I would be interested in carpooling with someone from either the Long Beach or South Bay areas (I am in San Pedro).

Kate, I'm driving and I'm counting your head in my passenger count.

NO parking in the Starbucks lot (which is pretty big); the city will tow. Lots of free parking at the train station parking lot right across the street.
