2012 Mansion in May & Dinner in Morristown

One of our members has recommended this outing and after reading all about Mansion in May, I'm more than happy to plan an afternoon at Glynallyn.  Mansion in May looks to be a fabulous way not only to tour a beautifully restored and professionally decorated historic castle inside and out but to also benefit such a great cause too.        Thanks Lenise!

Afterward we'll stop for an Early Dinner at Origin Thai II         details below

The Women’s Association of Morristown Medical Center is pleased to announce its 16th Mansion in May Designer Showhouse and Gardens at Glynallyn in 2012.  Mansion in May is WAMMC”s signature fundraiser and most profitable event.  Proceeds will be directed towards the new Inpatient Hospice and Palliative Care Center at Morristown Medical Center.

Upon approach to the long, tree-lined driveway, one get the immediate sense of having traveled back in time to arrive at a centuries-old Elizabethan Tudor castle in the English countryside with an imposing fortified entrance and majestic stained glass windows stretching high upon its facade.  It was a time when monarchs reigned supreme and gallant knights on horses stood guard…..welcome to Glynallyan.

Planning Our Visit Everyone is responsible for purchasing their own ticket.... price $30.00 which can be purchased online or at the venue.

Parking is located off-site at 44 Whippany Road, Morristown, with free shuttle to Glynallyn. Let’s plan on meeting there at 12pm…. please try to be on time.  It looks like the tour should take a 2-3 hours including time for boutique shopping and a snack if desired.

We have a 3:00 reservation at Origin Thai II, 10 South Street, Morristown.  Please let me know if you plan to attend dinner also, as I'll need to confirm a few days before.....BYOB if you like.  Since it looks like it may be a larger group please bring cash.  I will not be requesting separate checks.

I enjoyed touring the mansion with a great group of friends. I didn't like the long line that so many had to wait in. Dinner at Origin Thai was very tasty.

Sunday is a very crowded day at the Mansion. Good experience overall otherwise. Dinner was wonderful.

I am so very sorry that we were not able to enjoy the Mansion today as a group. Had I known that the crowds were going to be this large I would not have scheduled this venue. I hope all who did come enjoyed the Mansion and Gardens in spite of everything. Dinner at Orgin II was in a word "Suburb". So very glad that the day ended on such a good note! Good to meet a coupe of new members ... once again my apologies to those whom we did not meet up with during the day.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
