Props such as blankets and bolsters support you in floor positions. NIH studies with Restorative Yoga report a decrease in BP, HR, blood sugar, bad cholesterol and triglycerides. No prior yoga is necessary. This class is half Restorative and half Gentle Therapeutic Yoga. Gentle Therapeutic Yoga synthesizes Iyengar Yoga, Integrative Yoga Therapy, and Carol's knowledge of Physical Therapy. Compassion and guidance are offered for those with limitations.

Carol Hince, MS, PT, RYT, has taught Restorative Yoga classes for 13 years. She was trained and certified as a teacher by Judith Laseter. For five years she has taught this class at Kaiser Hospital, Santa Rosa for clients referred by their doctors. Her own recovery from shoulder surgery was facilitated by Restorative Yoga. Carol also has completed level two training in iRest Yoga Nidra meditation which complements Restorative Yoga.
Carol studied Iyengar yoga with Pam Field, was certified in Integrative Yoga Therapy by Joseph LePage, and has studied with Judith Laseter and Richard Miller, PhD. She has enriched her yoga classes with her 40+ years of practicing Physical Therapy with clients from every walk of life.
