Tell us about yourself and how you found our group?

I’m currently president of Songmakers. I first joined MeetUp to find a hiking group. I put Songmakers on MeetUp to bring in new members, especially younger members, because music communicates across all gaps and multigenerational music is more fun!

What instruments do you make music with (voice counts) and for how long?

Picked up harmonica hitching back from Woodstock in 69, and African Thumb piano soon after. I've sung in synagogue choirs for 15 years and play harmonica there twice a month. I got flown to Amsterdam a few years ago to play harp with a friend at Molly Malones Irish Pub.

What kind of music do you like?

Many - blues, rock, folk, and some show tunes, especially from Les Mis and Fiddler.

Have you even been a member of Songmakers, or do you know anyone who is a member?

I've been a member since 2009 and president since 2012.

I'm a retired UCLA neuroscientist with grown daughters. I'm a 5th degree Seido Karate black belt, and president of Songmakers. I helped with the 1rst Rainbow Gathering and return "home" whenever I can.
