SiS Seminar: Boost Your Creative Productivity

Are you not as productive a songwriter as you’d like?  Do you think you get in your own way?  This two hour workshop, by psychologist Andrea Neal, will teach cognitive-behavioral techniques to help you become more productive and consistent, and thus, more creative.  Here are some things we’ll work on:

- Learn how to set up routines, your work space, and your time
- Learn about and practice setting up reasonable and meaningful goals and how to reward yourself for accomplishing them
- Identify and dispute inaccurate beliefs about yourself or your work that are getting in your way.

Andrea is NOT an artist, but does live with one (SiS member Steve Church), and has a host of psychological tricks (based on good science) to help you get things done in your musical career.

A $10.00 suggested donation is requested, but not required, for this limited RSVP seminar. Pre-payment via Paypal during RSVP is preferred (or directly via [masked]). Your donation is completely tax deductible and a tax receipt for your records can be provided on request.

The Saturn Building is in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle and the conference room is on the 3rd floor, Rm 310.    http://www.saturnbuilding.com/contact/

This was an excellent class. As a psychology professional myself, I was familiar with the concepts and it fit perfectly to apply them to song writing. It was inspiring and a great way to have a fun rousing discussion among us all about the songwriting process. I wanted to share a "find" with everyone. Have a look at an app called SmartGoals. It's slick, and goes along with everything Andrea shared with us in the class.

Thank you so much for the class Andrea. Very helpful on how to focus and get things done. I like the idea of determining values before proceeding, that helped me alot. Along with the breakdown of setting a goal, just seeing it on paper makes me realize whether I am being realistic or not, (I may be "beating myself up" for not getting it done, when there was good reason). I also loved the tip sheet you gave us and shared it with my co-writer.

I apologize for my lack of attendance to any mtgs. My partner has been sick. She has surgery scheduled for this coming week. I should be able to attend meetings in the coming months after her recovery. Thank you!
