Yes, songwriting games in pairs again, because it was so much fun the last time we did it. There will be at least one new songwriting game this time, so it won't be a complete repeat.
Outline for the event: 1) The group will be spilt into pairs by the host. 2) Host will give instructions on a songwriting game. Games are based on exercises learned by the hosts through participating in various songwriting workshops. 3) Pairs will work together to write a song (or part of a song) following the songwriting game within a limited amount of time. 4) Each pair will share the music they created with the group. 5) If time permits, we will repeat the process, so that everyone can try working with two different people.
Bring your instrument and a notebook for sketching out your ideas. If you are a multi-instrumentalist, bring the instrument you most like to use when writing music.
Experience level: You are comfortable writing lyrics or composing music on your own, and are willing to perform a rough version of what you create for the group.
Feel free to message host if you have any questions.
A five dollar fee is required, which can be paid on-line or at the event. All money will go to SIS (for renting meeting spaces and supporting other programming).
Wait List Info: This time a "manual" wait list will be used. This means that when a spot opens up, everyone on the wait list will be notified and the first to reply will get the spot.
