I was a bit disappointed. I expected a higher level class. I may have misread the description. This seemed like a beginner level class. I was expecting more of a master class.

Thanks Ed, but that is not necessary. I wasn't trying to discredit you or the class, it was just not what I was expecting. I really wanted to get into the details of applying modes over progressions or learning something that makes modes more useful to me. I already know all my modes, and am a fairly decent lead guitarist, but I have never, in 30 years of playing, used a specific mode in my playing. I do use the major scale (and thus, all of the modes contained therein) but do not ever think about what mode I am in. I also use the pentatonic scales both in the major key and the relative minor (which I think you should have mentioned). My apologies for providing a low rating. I was rather disgruntled yesterday when I arrived home due to several other occurrences after I left your class. I may have let my general mood color my opinion.

Let's do it one on one no charge, just a collaboration of the modal scales over varied progressions. I know exactly what you are looking to accomplish.I wanted to do everything you mentioned but everyone packed up and left. I offered to stay and continue the lesson. I needed to cover what I did for the others or they would have been lost. Ed

    Hey there!
Just wanted to check and make sure you had both me and my "partner in crime" for tomorrow... Check okay?

    January 24, 2014

    • Ed M.

      Yes I do. No worries.

Char, if you're also asking if a check is okay for payment...in this case, make a check out to Ed Moda and he and I will work out the finances for the group. Thanks!

I just want to be sure beginners are welcomed to attend. I own a guitar and have wanted to learn for years. Thank you!

Paula, of course you are invited to attend. I would say it may be beyond your experience level but the concepts are theory and it is invaluable at any level and this study is great if you wish to write songs. If you know how light music theory works especially for guitar, you will be far beyond others in your skills. I say yes, invest $20 in yourself and your songs. I am constructing a beginners workshop that will be an in depth beginners study so this is a valuable intro. Ed

Do we need to plan ahead or is there a cut off for numbers of people?

    December 17, 2013

    • Ed M.

If you're serious about your guitar playing and songwriting I'd say plan ahead. Ed Moda
