Edmonds In-Depth Song Critique Workshop

  • April 2, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • This location is shown only to members

**Please read the entire description before signing up to participate!**

*This workshop is limited to those who have song recordings available online of the song they'd like critiqued. This will give everyone an opportunity to listen to all songs in advance and offer more thorough feedback.

*This is a closed workshop, so do not bring guests or come “just to observe.” These songs are works-in-progress and we do not want those participating to be subjected to criticism in front of an audience of non-participators.

*Please post your song and lyric/chord chart via a song-sharing site such as Soundcloud and link back to it here in the comments.

*Songs need to be posted by a deadline as determined by the host, or you risk forfeiting your spot.

*You are expected to listen to each song and write down your critique in advance, to be shared at the event. Each song will receive approximately 30 minutes of discussion.

*Giving your written song critique to the respective songwriters after the discussion is immensely helpful and highly recommended.

*Please do not come if you are still on the Waiting List. Thank you!

Song Critique Workshops have always been popular and important events within SiS. RSVP quickly as these few slots will likely fill early - an automatic waiting list is turned on for this event.

So you don't get lost - go all the way up 76th Ave West (it turns into 75th Place West), make a right at 162nd St West, and then follow the drive around to the left.

Hi Bill! I noticed there were some differences between the written lyrics and the recording. I assume the written version is the most recent? Hope you're enjoying the sun! Cheers, Aubra

Thanks all. Please post your songs by Friday night and let us know where to find them. Please prepare your critique in writing before Tuesday night. We want this to be a productive meeting. Think about the lyrics -do they tell a clear story?- the rhymes - are they consistent? the tempo and rhythm, the song structure, the melody. Ideas for arrangements or accompaniments?
Songs do not have to be in English or even have words. But I agree it would be nice to have a translation - especially if you want any comments on the lyrics.
I can be reached at "[masked]". Let me know if you need directions to my house.

If songs are not posted ahead of time, please sign up for a future critique instead of attending this one.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
