Hello Everybody! Boy am I excited about this one!
After a slight hiatus trying to get things together, my partner and I are incredibly excited to invite you to our first house concert we've ever personally hosted. It's going to be in our lovely garden on a Sunday afternoon (there will be chairs!), with some of the best songwriters I know performing - Kelly McFarling, and a songwriter duo - Avi Vinocur and Patrick Dyer Wolf!
About the artists:
Homegrown and haunting, Kelly McFarling's voice spirals powerfully, and progressively over a bed of oldtimey instrumentation. She is from Atlanta, GA, where she learned to sing in church choirs and baseball stadiums, and learned to write through the stories of Flannery O' Connor and Toni Morrison. She has since wandered out West, where she can be found in the back rooms of San Francisco bars plucking her Banjo and singing siren songs. Dubbed 'original rhythm and Bluegrass,' her songs are inspired by hard truths and transitions, with bold honest lyrics and authentic melodies that stay with you long after the song is over. McFarling's outgoing and adventurous spirit comes through in her lyrics, her live performances, and in the music's indulgence in elements outside its clear influences of folk, oldtime, blues and country.

I first met Avi and Patrick doing a duo show at a SF venue. I fell in love (hopelessly) with their music. They have the most beautiful lyrics, and their harmonies are spectacular.

This is the FIRST show that my partner and I have ever hosted, and this Meetup's first actual house concert so please come out for a lovely Sunday afternoon of entertainment! There is a 15$ suggested donation to support the artists. There are only 40 spots, so please donate in advance so that we fill it all up. Bring snacks or a bottle of wine if you want to be feeling fine! :-) And email me at [masked] if you have any questions. See you there!
Much love and music,
