Night Shoot - Sonoma County Fair

All the ingredients for a great photo challenge:  Night time, lots of lights and movement, dust, crowds and of course - corn dogs.

We will meet up as a group and decide the plan once we get there.  If you plan on getting there past 715 please take our phone numbers with you, and we'll tell you where to find us when you arrive.

There is a charge to enter the fair and to park in their parking lots.

I had a ball. I only wish we had a bit more time on the shoot. So much to see and so little time. Thanks for organizing this one.

Can't tell you what a GREAT TIME I had! Just the night fair and a corn dog would have been wonderful, but adding a camera and tripod - The Best! (Thanks for all the time & energy you put into making this happen.)

Awesome!!! Thank you again Remy and Ray! Another fun time for sure. The fair rent-a-cops upon us about tripods as soon as I had finished talking with Remy about that. I switched to hand holding my camera while my other one was on the tripod, cap over lens and all, and they came right back and complained about that. I tried to explain but they still seemed upset so we headed out. My guest had the exact same thing happen to him as well. Hope that it didn't ruffle their feathers too much?

Been awhile since Ive been to any of the meetups. I had surgery in March so I have been recovering from that. But I'm ready to go again! Cant wait. This was the first meet up I had ever been to this time last year . I look forward to attending again this year.! YAY! So excited

Cecilia, Apparently everyone but you can bring a tripod!

    1 · August 4, 2012

  • Remy G.

Napoleon - to most meet ups, there are no rules about what you can and cant bring in terms of equipment...to the fair, we'll be getting special badges so the police will leave us alone. It's a pretty formal process. as far as advice on lenses, I would bring a few....we'll be starting with about 90 minute of daylight / dusk, and then night time. Bring your tripod for sure.

I am looking forward to it. I've never done a night shoot before. Any advice on what lenses would be best for a fair? Thanks!

This will be my first time to join a SCPG's meetup. Is there any group rules or protocol that I should be aware of (e.g. what I can or cannot bring to the shoot)? Thanks.

    July 17, 2012

  • Remy G.

i am working on securing the badges again, so hold on for more details!! :)
    Tripods will be ok!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
