Chicken Shack Challenge for VERY fit and experienced hikers! (Grueling)

This is a special event hike.  It is not a normal Wanderer hike and many people report this hike to be the hardest hike in the area.  We will do it in the future as a regular Wanderer event but this particular hike is special.  As a result, I am requesting that only experienced Wanderers RSVP for this hike.  Yannick (one of our fastest Wanderers) has offered to lead a group of experienced and very fit Wanderers up the famous Chicken Shack hike.  This will be harder and FASTER than our normal hikes and for a select few that can keep up with Yannick.

Like a roller-coaster: up-up-up that became down-down-down that became up-up-up that became down-down-down for 11 miles with OMG views all over the place. I think there was a little flat spot somewhere in the middle. Adding all the ups, almost 3,000 feet total altitude change. An out and back hike that is challenging; dare I say, breath-taking. Fire road along a ridge top all the way.

I'll come but can't car pool because I drop my child off at 7:35 for his ride to school. Hope I make it in time.

I'm leaving Santa Rosa at about 0730. Anybody want to car-pool with me? I prefer to meet at the fairgrounds park-n-ride lot under the freeway. Reply to this message if interested.

Julie: we can meet in the Safeway parking lot (North end in front of the old Denny's). Let's meet at 7:30 a.m. Maybe some SR folks could join us?

just to let you know, if you haven't discovered a little brewery in Novato yet, it could be a place you want to visit afterwards, Beltane Brewing. it is actually small. http://www.beltanebrewing.com/index.html
