Dusty bike with flat tires? Let's fix that with a 20 mile ride!

Haven't ridden your bike in awhile?  Or, if short bike rides are your cup of tea then come join me.  I'm going to dust the cobwebs off my bike, fill my tires up with air and do this spectacular county road ride in Healdsburg.  I'm going to aim for 20 miles, complete with an iced tea stop at the Dry Creek Store at the end.  The route will have some gentle rolling hills and little traffic.  It's a dream of a ride, in fact, this area is quite popular with bike tour companies that charge the big bucks.  We are lucky, we get it for free!  This is going to be a very short trip since we are not the fast or distance biking group...we are the leisurely/take our time biking group! Not including the stop for refreshment at the end, we should be off the road around 11.  When we stop at the Dry Creek Store as long as we purchase beverages we can eat our own snacks outside at the picnic tables so feel free to bring along some early lunch.

If you typically dress for biking in skin tight lycra/spandex clothing that is emblazoned with logos then that is a pretty good indicator that this it NOT the trip for you.  I have quite a relaxed pace with plenty of time to pick a blackberry or two, take a picture or walk your bike up a hill!

To get here follow the map link provided above when you click on Dirt pullout or head to Healdsburg and take the Dry Creek exit from Hwy 101.  Head west on Dry Creek away from town.  In about 2 miles you will see Lytton Springs Rd. on you right.  It's the first road on the right  that you come to excluding driveways.  Once you turn on Lytton Springs it will be the first dirt pull out on the left...about 1/10th of a mile from the beginning of Lytton Springs after a right hand bend in the road.

I'm still glowing from our wonderful ride this morning. It felt so good to be back on my bike, in a beautiful area and with terrific people. I hope you all come back for the next bike ride!! Though I'm not sure how we can top this one!

What a day for a daydream....perfect in every way. Just the right length, just the right road, just the right up and down, just the right bike, just the right change, and just the right people! Thanks, Leigh for finding this one! Ohhhhh! I almost forgot to mention....just the right wine!

Yay...tomorrow we bike! Our bike trip will end at the Dry Creek Store (like last time) for a refreshing beverage at their picnic tables...if we buy drinks we can eat our own sandwiches so feel free to bring some snacks. See you tomorrow!
