Alternative Hike: Bald Mountain, Sugarloaf

We'll hike to the top of Bald Mountain via the Vista, Headwaters, Red Mountain, and Grey Pine trails. Expect incredible scenery on the aptly named Vista trail and some narrow and more challenging uphill climbs along Headwaters. Our route is 7 miles, with an elevation gain of 1700 feet and will take about 4 1/2 hours, including rest stops and a lunch break just below the summit. Please bring plenty of water and a bag lunch.

For those of you who want a gentler hike, feel free to leave the group at the junction of Vista and Headwaters trails, and return alone on Vista, Grey Pine, and Meadow. Be sure to let me know so I won't look for you!

We are sponsored by Team Sugarloaf, Valley of the Moon Natural History Association and CA state parks. Thank you again Leigh for allowing us to use the Wanderers site.

Would love to join your carpool since nobody is carpooling from Petaluma.

I can meet on Adobe Canyon Road just off Hwy 12 and drive up. If anyone wants to meet there, let me know.
