The Wandering Feast (Lunch) at The Parish in Healdsburg

  • January 10 · 11:30 AM
  • Parish Cafe

We are going to lunch.  Rumor has it that this new Louisiana style restaurant is worth checking out!  Please note that Shiloh hikers will be added first so everyone initially is going to go on the waiting list.  If you are hiking with us at Shiloh you will be added.  We can take up to 12 people.  If you are unable to hike and just want to join us for lunch then it's possible that you still can if we didn't fill up with hikers first.

We will hike at Shiloh (listed as a separate event) and make our way to Healdsburg for lunch.

I love the idea of going out to lunch sometimes after a hike with the company of the Wanderers. The Parish menu did not have food choices that I eat, (and it did not remind me of my year of
    living in Baton Rouge, LA.)

In this case, I guess my ignorance of proper Louisiana cuisine was a boon. I cheerfully savored every bite of my gazillion-calorie fried-oyster salad. :)

Chef Tony thought the food was straight out of a can. The presentation on the shrimp salad, something quite unappealing. One fork out of four, because the service was good

Too bad you weren't at our table, where the diners were pleased with their meals. It goes to show that one Wanderer's feast may be another's disappointment. :-)

Well, sorry to hear this place didn't meet everyone's expectation. But thank you for reviews. Just to mention it, if you truly like Cajun type food, try Angelines in Berkeley.

I've been there and worth the wait (if you don't have reservations like I didn't)

    Bon appetit!

After eating our New Orleans style lunch, everyone at our table unanimously rated The Parish 8 on a 10 scale. I smugly believe that I had the best thing on the menu. :-)

I must have lucked out when ordering - the shrimp remoulade was delicious. I'd go back just to try their breakfast menu.

Getting together is always wonderful with the Wanderers - but quite frankly, I was fortunate to spend about 2 months in New Orleans a few years ago, enjoying food my Neworlean friends either made or took me to enjoy at restaurants of all price levels; this restaurant left me far from my re-living my culinary experiences in NO. So sorry, but the company was great, but the food...well...

Fun but the food was severely lacking. I would not recommend this establishment. But! Can't wait to go out to lunch at the next venue!!!!

Dese and Nancy...there is a chance you will be able to join us. I'm going to call them before we leave Shiloh to make sure they can accommodate us all and if they can handle 14 we can all go!

Let me understand this.........Weight Watchers at 8:15, hike at Shiloh at 9:30, then lunch at 11:30.........I like it! (well except for the Weight Watchers thing)
Unfortunately a cold is preventing me from participating. But I would like to know more about this "Parish Cafe" Report please? I love New Orleans food!
