Lower Tubbs Island Trail - 10 Miles (Moderate)

This is a 10 mile out and back route from Hwy 37 to the Bay.

The hike is on a flat dirt/gravel fire road.  The elevation gain is less than 100 feet.  The trail is exposed.  There is no shade unless you count the area behind trail signs.

The 2nd half of the hike is designed as a loop.  However, there is currently a trail breach where the bay decided it wanted put a water route.  So instead, we just head back.  This makes the normally 8 mile hike into a 10 mile hike.

On the way back will have a lunch break on the shoreline of the San Pablo Bay.

As always:

• Please always check your email the night before just in case there are any necessary adjustments to the hike details. Cancellations or any adjustments will be posted by 10pm the previous evening.

• Give yourself time to find the trail head so that you arrive prior to the scheduled time. That is the time we head out on the trail. It would be disappointing to miss having you on the hike due to late arrival. You will be left behind if you are not ready to head out at the hike start time.

• Duration: 4 Hours

• Facilities: None

• Dogs?: Not Allowed

• Water: 1 Liter

• Dress in layers. The hike starts off cool but rapidly warms up.

• Bring a snack or lunch.

See you on the trail!

Directions:

From Sears Point (the stop light @ Hwy 121 and Hwy 37) go East on Hwy 37 for 0.7 miles towards Vallejo.  Trailhead parking lot is on your right.

Note:  Hwy 37 will be divided and the speed limit is 55 MPH at that point. The signs for hiking are well marked but you have to keep your eyes open for this abrupt turn to the right off of Hwy 37

I really enjoyed the view from the edge of the Bay. Great company! Thanks for setting this one up again Yannick!

Sunshine and convivial conversation made this event a winner. Admittedly not among the more beautiful trails, this has some nice attributes: wide open sky, sunlight sparkling on the waters of San Pablo Bay, and a new perspective of landmarks such as SF on the horizon line and Mt. Tam in the distance. Thx Yannick!

Your GPS results confirm my impression that we were walking faster than I'm accustomed to. ;-)

This was not our typical hike, but just perfect for the day- weather was beautiful, sunny, clear, no wind. And 10 miles of fast walking was just what I was looking for- so in that respect it was a five star day---no disrespect intended, but if I rate them ALL as five stars it just becomes meaningless. It was a great hike, and the company, as always- 10 stars. Thank you so much Yannick for offering an alternative that I could do-

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
