Shell Beach to Pomo Canyon

Let's hike from Shell Beach to Pomo Canyon campground via Red Hill (7 miles) or alternate route (6 miles). Starting at the ocean, we will walk over hillsides, along sunny open trails and through deep redwood forests. Our route takes about 4 hours, including a lunch stop. This moderate hike has an elevation gain of 700 feet each way, for a total of 1400 feet.

As usual, please bring lunch, plenty of water and your camera.  The July hike is not sponsored by CA parks or by Valley of the Moon Natural History Association, although led by the infamous team of Laura and Bob.

Suggested carpool spots:

Coddington library parking lot, leave by 8:50 am

Petaluma-Lucky at the intersection of Lakeville and Caulfield Lane. Park closest to Payran St. Leave by 8:30 am
