Shiloh Ranch Regional Park for a relaxing and short ramble! (Good Exercise)

Ahhhhh....this is a great place to wander around!  It's a quick mellow walk around Shiloh Ranch Regional Park.  Our pace will be relaxed and steady.  It's about 3.5 miles with an elevation gain of around 600 feet.  This will probably take us less than 2 hours to do.  It's a great way to start your day!  It's short and will leave you with plenty of time to continue onto a productive remainder of the day.

We head out on Big Leaf Trail and quickly take a left onto Creekside trail for a walk up a canyon under shady pines and oaks.  After leaving the canyon we enter a grassy valley complete with a scenic pond.  We continue up the Ridge trail and take a left on South Ridge trail to reach the top of the park and the vista area.  We then continue down on South Ridge to Big Leaf trail to reach the parking area.  This hike does have hills but they are gradual and somewhat rolling.  As long as you are comfortable with hiking on trails and hills this is a great hike for the beginning to intermediate hiker.

It's a short hike, but as always it is a good idea to come prepared with the following:

  • Water
  • Sunblock/Hat
  • Layered clothing as it will start off cool but quickly warm up!
  • Comfortable walking shoes

FYI--THERE IS A $7.00 PARK ENTRY FEE TO PARK AT THIS PARK.  Thank you for supporting our park system!

What a nice walk with a lively group! It energized me enough to make it through jury duty (case settled so we were dismissed!) without falling asleep! Thank you ALL for joining me on my favorite short hike.

Sorry I didn't make it. I think I have a spider bite or something. It feels like someone kicked me really hard in the shin. I hope to be better by the end of the week. Thank you for arranging all these wonderful hikes.

Great to be able to have a short hike in the morning and plenty of time to do other things after. Thanks Leigh.

Hate to bug you all with this email....But, is anyone coming up 101 from the south for the hike at Shiloh and be able to pick me up at Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa and drop me off back there after the hike?

2875 Corby Avenue. It would be south two freeway exits from where 12 joins 101. Sounds like it would be out of your way.
