I enjoy being a part of all hikes, wether it be short or long, there is greatness in all journeys
8 started my hiking journey 25 miles around San Francisco. On the 4th of July did 7 miles to the top of Sugarloaf Ridge and after that another hike around San Francisco, this one being 11 miles. Then I meet up with a group to hike a 5 mile in Bodega Bay, then another group to hike the Marin Headlands, where we ate huckleberries of many vines ;) ......just this weekend I did another hike in Bodega Bay, called the Bodega Headlands. It was a beautiful day.
Yes indeed, aft my 11 mile hike in the Marin Headlands I developed blisters on both heels. My small ban aides were not enough and someone offered me a bigger bandaid and some duck tape. When I got home I traded those stiffener hiking boots in for better ones and I loaded up my pack with better band aides and a small first aid kit, as that hike taught me some important first aid lessons.
The Hikes have introduced to me the wildflowers, the elk, oceans, rivers, and terrain that I never knew were right here in our own backyards. It's all amazing and all so beautiful to discover along with groups of kindred spirits alike.
The wanderers are a strong athletic group always taking into consideration their first hikes, therefore giving us newcomers a welcoming invetation.
