Iron Brewer Judging and St. Patrick’s Day Party

The judging of the beers brewed at our 6th annual Sonoma Beerocrats Iron Brewer Competition will be Sunday March 17th 12:00 pm at Carol Shelton Winery. Many thanks go out to Mitch, and Carol at Carol Shelton Winery for once again being our host for this event. This event is a potluck lunch so bring your favorite dish to share. The club will supply Barbeque Chicken paper plates and plastic ware. Bring homebrew to share after the judging is over.

We had 10 teams brewing this year. This is a people’s choice judging. BJCP guidelines do not apply here. The winners will be the beers liked the most by the crowd. Beerocrat members their family and invited guests will be allowed to vote for their favorite beer.

Entrants bring six 12 oz. brown long neck bottles. No labels or markings of any kind on bottles or caps. 22oz. and swing tops are not allowed.

Team name with team Captain’s name will be attached with rubber band to each bottle using AHA/BJCP bottle identification form.

Beer turn in will begin at 11:45 ending at 12:15; no beers will be accepted after 12:16.

Ribbons and Beverage People gift certificates will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

Thanks all for making this another great event. Thanks for the votes , congrats to Mad Hops & all teams that participated in Iron Brew. Everyone brewed good beer.
Lots of great ideas for future events were discussed; Sensory tasting, Learning how to judge beers / using BJCP Scoresheets. BJCP Judge training group, camping trip...
I'd also love to see us have a party at Lagunitas.
